Polam Federal Credit Union

San Francisco, California

Polam Federal Credit Union predominantly serves Polish, Russian, and Slavic communities in California and Connecticut.  This renovation of the San Francisco branch in the Richmond District was the first since it opened in 1971.

Polam’s vision for the project was to create a light-filled, open, and welcoming space with modern, clean materials, lines, and detailing.  The design incorporates many of the same elements and materials that were used in the recent renovation of Polam's Redwood City headquarters, reinforcing a corporate identity.  The back-of-house area was reconfigured with an enlarged conference room, kitchen, and lounge for use by staff and community members.  The windows were enlarged to strengthen connection to the outdoors and bring daylight deep into the interior.
